The 10 days Uganda safari adventure takes you to Uganda’s top safari destinations; Murchison falls and Queen Elizabeth national parks for wildlife viewing and Bwindi and Kibale national parks for primate tracking. While at the two primate destinations, you will also go for community visits to the park-neighboring villages. Community tours in Bwindi and Bigodi on this safari enable you to have a deeper understanding of the upcountry life of the locals in Uganda.

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison falls national park Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi community tour Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park Day 6: Morning game drive and boat cruise in the afternoon Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park Day 8: Gorilla tracking and Batwa cultural encounter Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a canoe ride Day 10: Transfer to Kampala or Entebbe with a stopover at the equator monument

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala or Entebbe to Murchison Falls national park Your safari driver for the road trip will meet with you at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and once you get done with having your breakfast, you will set off to Murchison Falls national park. The drive takes you through some of the busy suburbs of Kampala and connect to Luweero triangle where the current president of Uganda – Yoweri Kaguta Museveni started his guerilla war in 1981, which brought him into power. You will have lunch in Masindi and proceed to the park through the southern gate, drive through Budongo forest where you will also spot some monkeys. You will visit the top of the falls that will welcome you with powerful sounds and later on beautiful showers after the long drive. Watching the idyllic Murchison waterfalls from this site is an amazing experience. From here, drive to your lodge for the overnight. Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise After an early breakfast at your lodge, next is a game drive in the northern part of the park. Animals commonly seen and expected here include hippos, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest and lions. Leopards can also be sighted. After the 4 hours game drive, your safari guide will drive you back to the lodge and you will be served lunch at noon. Then head to the jetty for the boat cruise to the bottom of the falls where you will watch the Nile aggressively pour down after penetrating through the 7m gorge. En-route, you will see a lot of wildlife including countless hippos, large crocodiles and a variety of birds. After the launch trip, the safari driver will take you back to the lodge. Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park Wake up and have breakfast, check out and transfer to Kibale via Hoima where you will also enjoy views of the Albertine escarpment. You will have an en-route lunch and arrive at your lodge in Kibale in the evening. Accommodation options: Kyaninga safari lodge, Chimpanzee Forest lodge. Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi community tour After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters in Kanyanchu, meet the staff and receive the guidelines for chimpanzee tracking. Thereafter, you will set off for the activity with a ranger guide and trek the chimpanzees. Once they are sighted, you will be allowed one hour with them and the guide will use it to give an insight about how these primates behave as you also capture photos. There is a possibility of spotting other animals such as the grey-cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed monkey, black and white colobus monkeys and L’Hoest monkey among others. You will walk back to the park offices, meet your safari driver and drive back to the lodge. Later on in the late afternoon, you will head out to Bigodi and visit some of the KAFRED projects which have thrived through tourism activities in this region. You will also meet some of the locals to know how they go about their day to day life. Then return to the lodge and relax. Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park Check out of the lodge after having breakfast and drive to Queen Elizabeth national park. Depending on time of arrival, you can first visit the Katwe crater lakes and afterwards go have lunch at your lodge, relax and later on head out for an evening game drive in Kasenyi. You could see some of the animals of the park such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs to mention but a few. You will later on drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation options: Mweya safari lodge, Park View safari lodge, Simba safari camp. Day 6: Morning game drive and boat cruise in the afternoon You will go for an early morning game drive to catch the early grazers plus predators before they retire to their hideouts. The driver is familiar with the tracks in Kasenyi plains, so they will drive you around as you watch Uganda kobs and buffaloes, while searching for lions and leopards. With what nature will have exposed this morning, you will drive back to the lodge after the game drive. Later on have lunch and go for the 2 hours boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This is one of the most enjoyable things to do in Queen Elizabeth national park. It exposes you to a variety of wildlife including hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, waterbucks, elephants and many bird species including kingfishers, egrets, cormorants and pelicans. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge and enjoy the natural environment as you wait for dinner. Day 7: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park Breakfast in the morning, check out of the lodge and set off for Bwindi forest national park. The drive take you via Ishasha sector where you will do a short game drive for a chance to spot the tree climbing lions and then proceed to Bwindi with an en-route lunch. You will arrive at your lodge in the evening. Accommodation options: Silverback lodge, Rushaga Gorilla lodge, Trekkers Tavern, Bakiga lodge Day 8: Gorilla tracking and Batwa cultural encounter Breakfast is prepared very early morning because of the programme of most visitors at these lodges. You will therefore have breakfast, pack your lunch and drive to the park offices of your trekking sector. The park officials will give you guidelines for trekking and thereafter you can enter the forest with your allocated ranger and start to look for the assigned gorilla family. Once it is spotted, you will spend one hour with tem and this is always one of the most thrilling moments of any African safari; a face to face encounter with mountain gorillas. They are charming creatures that behave like humans and watching them never gets enough. You will thereafter exit the forest and pick your trekking certificates. Next is a cultural encounter with the Batwa in their community. You will learn about how they go about with their day to day life and have an entertainment of their music and dance. The day ends at the lodge. Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a canoe ride You will have breakfast at you lodge in Bwindi and then check out. Drive to Lake Bunyonyi, a distance of about 2-3 hours depending on your trekking sector. You will already fall in love with the landscape and views here. Get aboard the wooden canoe and sail on the lake to locations where you can access some islands and tour around. Sail back to the mainland and check in to your lodge and rest. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Accommodation options: Arcadia cottages Bunyonyi, Lake Bunyonyi Resort Day 10: Transfer to Kampala or Entebbe with a stopover at the equator monument On this last day of your safari, you will rise up to a chilly morning, take a cup of coffee as you enjoy the lovely views of the surrounding. Then check out and drive to Kampala via Mbarara and Masaka where you’ll stop over for the equator experience. Arrive in Kampala or Entebbe in the evening. End Of Uganda Safari Adventure.
