This 3 Day Murchison falls safari takes you to one of Uganda’s and East Africa’s most popular park rewarding you with unique wildlife experiences and spectacular landscape views. It takes you for game drives to look out for animals around the plains of the park, visit to the top of the falls and the boat cruise on the legendary River Nile to watch the abundant semi-aquatic wildlife and the bottom of Murchison falls. The road trip starts and ends in Kampala or Entebbe. Murchison Falls national park (MFNP) is situated about 6 hours drive from Kampala.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison falls After breakfast at your lodge in Kampala or Entebbe, meet the company guide who is going to be your safari guide for the 3 Day tour to Murchison. The park is in the northeastern part of Uganda and the journey takes you through Luweero triangle, Nakasongola and Masindi where you will have your lunch, then proceed through the southern gate. Drive straight to the top of the falls which produce thunderous power as the Nile makes its way through the 7m gorge. The picturesque Murchison waterfalls welcome you to the park with roaring sounds and cool showers before you drive to your lodge for the overnight. Main destination: Murchison Falls National park Accommodation options: Heritage safari lodge (budget) Pakuba safari lodge (midrange) Paraa safari lodge (luxury) Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise After an early breakfast, head out to the plains in the north of the park for a game drive. Driving around the northern side of the park is a beautiful experience of searching and viewing wildlife including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, antelopes, lions and leopards among others. You will also spot a number of bird species such as the Abyssinian hornbill which is a common sight. Return to the lodge for lunch and go for a boat cruise in the afternoon. It takes you to the bottom of the spectacular Murchison falls where you enjoy the flow of the water plus the abundant wildlife en-route including hippos, crocodiles and birds. Have one more game drive to look out for some animals that you could have missed. Thereafter drive out of the park southwards through Masindi and have an en-route lunch. You could choose to go for rhino tracking at Ziwa rhino sanctuary and proceed to Kampala where you will arrive in the evening, perhaps be dropped at the airport depending on your travel plans.
