Day 1: Transfer to QENP Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise Day 3: transfer to Kibale national park Day 4: chimpanzee tracking and an optional visit of Bigodi swamp Day 5: return to Kampala

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth national park Our 5 Day Uganda safari is meant to start in Kampala or Entebbe. You will meet with the safari guide at your lodge, and after greeting, he gives you a briefing of the road trip. Set off and have the first stop over at the equator monument, pose for photos while standing in the northern and southern hemispheres and also learn about how water swirls in different directions when placed in the two hemispheres. Proceed through Masaka, Mbarara and to Queen Elizabeth national park. Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise Rise up to an early breakfast at the lodge and head out for a game drive. The drive takes us to the northern part of the park where we’ll search for early grazers and predators with a chance to see lions, could spot a leopard and some elephants. Uganda kobs, buffaloes and waterbucks are commonly seen in large numbers. There are also so many birds seen both along the way and in the plains. We shall end the game drive with a stopover at Bunyampaka to view the salt panels and the vast plains. We shall have lunch at the lodge and go for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. It is always an awesome experience of watching countless hippos, crocodiles and different bird species. If it is extremely hot, we could also see herds of buffaloes and some elephants along the channel. After 2 hours of the launch trip, we drive back to the lodge and relax. Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park The approximately 4 hour drive from Queen Elizabeth national park to Kibale will take us through Kasese town and Fort Portal. This whole route interests us with scenic views of the Rwenzori Mountains. We have an option of visiting Tooro palace or Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru or drive straight to our lodge where we shall have lunch and enjoy the fresh cool air here. Dinner and overnight at the lodge. Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp walk After breakfast at our lodge, we drive to the park offices where we might meet other visitors. The park guides will give us guidelines for trekking and we shall thereafter be allowed to penetrate into the tropical rainforest in search of the chimpanzees. Once we spot the chimps, we stay with them for one hour; they are lively primates with common behaviors of jumping and playing around the tree branches. As we walk around the forest, we could come across other primates especially monkeys and baboons. When we return to the lodge, we shall have lunch and rest. Later on in the late afternoon or evening, we head to Bigodi swamp to explore the wetland with a rich birdlife and other animals like antelopes, chimps and baboons among others. Interesting bird species in this Bigodi include the Great Blue turaco, Rwenzori Apalis and green breasted pitta among others. From here, we head straight to the lodge Day 5: Drive to Kampala or Entebbe On this day, we wake up at our leisure and have breakfast at the lodge. Check out and embark on the return journey to Kampala. We shall arrive there in the evening. END OF UGANDA SAFARI TRIP
