Book this Uganda safari with us exploring some of Uganda’s top wildlife destinations: Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth national parks on a guided tour. The 5 Day wildlife and primate safari takes you gorilla trekking in the pristine Bwindi forest, meet the Batwa in southwestern Uganda, and then game driving and boat cruise for wildlife viewing in Queen Elizabeth national park. It is intended to start and end in Kampala or Entebbe.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth national park Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Batwa encounter Day 5: Transfer to Kampala

Day 1: transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park Breakfast will be provided by your accommodation host in Kampala or Entebbe and then you will meet and greet your safari guide. They will give you a briefing of the trip and thereafter get prepared to set off. The road trip takes you via the equator monument along Masaka road where you will have a stopover and stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. You could also take a cup of coffee or buy some souvenirs and proceed with the journey through Mbarara to Queen Elizabeth national park. Will have an en-route lunch and arrive at the lodge in the evening. Accommodation options: Elephant plains safari lodge/Mweya safari lodge (luxury), Park view safari lodge (midrange) Simba safari camp (budget) Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise This day starts with an early breakfast at the lodge followed by game drive in the Kasenyi plains. The activity exposes you to a huge number of wildlife including elephants, hippos, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, lions and leopard sightings among others. As you come close to the end of the game drive, you will get to a site where you watch the amazing views of Bunyampaka salt lake known to seasonally host flamingos alongside other bad species. On return to the lodge, you will have lunch and drive to the Kazinga channel for the afternoon boat cruise. Kazinga channel is one of the best places for boat cruise tours in Uganda because of the abundant wildlife that live in the water, on the shoes and those that visit the waterway. Expect to see lots of hippos and crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants and a wide range of avian bird species including pied kingfishers, cormorants and pelicans among others. After two hours on the water, you will drive back to the lodge. Day 3: transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha sector After having breakfast, check out and drive southwards to Ishasha sector where you will do a game drive to look out for the tree climbing lions. On a lucky day, you could spot a number of them relaxing on fig tree branches. You will have an en-route lunch and proceed t Bwindi where you will arrive and check in to your lodge in the evening. Accommodation options depends on the trekking sector Day 4: Gorilla trekking and visiting the Batwa A day of the great adventure; it starts with an early morning breakfast and you also pack your lunch since sometimes gorilla trekking can last longer than expected. Drive to the park offices for briefing about gorilla trekking. You will then be allocated a gorilla family to track and a guide to lead you through Bwindi forest. While hiking through the trails, you could encounter other wildlife like monkeys, chimps and birds. And once you spot the mountain gorillas, you will be allowed to stay with them for one hour; observing, learning about their behavior and taking photos. This is a lifetime moment on safari in Africa! Return to the offices and pick up your certificates, then move to Batwa community to have an insight about their day-to-day life, enjoy an entertainment of their local music and dances. After here, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 5: Return to Kampala After all the awesome moments on your wildlife and gorilla safari, you start your last day of the safari with a sumptuous breakfast and then check out of the lodge. Driving through Kabale offers beautiful views of the rolling Kigezi highlands. You will have a stopover for lunch and proceed to Kampala or Entebbe where you will arrive in the evening.
