Nyungwe Chimpanzee Safari

Regarded as one of the best preserved montane forest in Africa, Nyungwe forest is renowned for its huge population of about 320 chimpanzees plus other 12 primate species, 85 mammal species, more than 300 species of birds, 32 amphibians & 38 reptile species. Day 1- Transfer from Kigali to Nyungwe forest & Canopy walk Our driver-guide will pick you up from the hotel or airport and drive you to Nyungwe forest with a road trip last up to 5 hours. Check in at Uwinka visitors center for registration and briefing before you embark on a 2-hour guided canopy walk along a 70m high suspended bridge which gives you beautiful aerial views of the forest. Check-in at Gisakura guest house/ Nyungwe top view hotel/ Nyungwe forest lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 2 - Chimpanzee tracking After a hearty breakfast, our driver guide will transfer you back to Uwinka visitors center for a 1 to 2-hours chimpnzee trekking in Nyungwe forest. There are 2 habituated chimpanzee groups in Nyungwe, one situated close Uwinka while the bigger group is located in Cyamudongo. Get chance to spot them up close as the feed, interact and rest in the wild plus you will also get an opportunity to spot other primates and birds. Return to the lodge or hotel for lunch and prepare for transfer back to Kigali ending the 2 days Nyungwe safari. END OF NYUNGWE CHIMPANZEE SAFARI
