A 3 Day wildlife safari in Queen Elizabeth national park is the shortest trip you take on to this game reserve starting from Kampala or Entebbe. The park is located in the western part of Uganda and is a major destination for Uganda safaris. It is great for wildlife viewing, scenic viewing and relaxation as you enjoy the tranquility that comes with the wilderness. With a recommendation of a 4X4 safari vehicle, the road trip takes you through the beautiful countryside where you will love the views of banana plantations and scenic landscapes.
Accommodation on the arrival date (before day 1 of the safari) can be arranged at an extra cost Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth national park Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise Day 3: Game drive and return to Kampala OR Entebbe.
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Right after or even before you get done having breakfast, your safari guide for this trip will meet you at your hotel. Greet and then he takes you through a briefing of the trip focusing more on this day’s program. Thereafter, you will set off and drive westwards with the first stopover at the equator monument in Kayabwe. While here, you will pose for a photo standing in both the northern and southern hemispheres at the same time. Proceed with the journey, have lunch in Mbarara and check in to your lodge in the evening. Accommodation options: Elephant Plains safari lodge/Mweya safari lodge (luxury), Park view safari lodge (midrange), Simba safari camp (budget) Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise The day starts with a cup of coffee and then you’ll head out for a morning game drive in Kasenyi. As you drive to this sector of the park, there is a chance of spotting some animals along the way. Driving around the tracks in Kasenyi plains offers an opportunity of seeing a variety of animals including lions, elephants, leopard, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, hyena and buffaloes. You will also enjoy the views of crater lakes including Bunyampaka which seasonally hosts flamingos. After 4 hours of the game drive, you will return to the lodge, have lunch and drive to Mweya for the afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. The 2 hours launch trip exposes you to an array of wildlife including hippos, Nile crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs and a wide birdlife. Common bird species here include pied kingfishers, African fish eagle, cormorants, egrets, pink-backed pelicans and storks. You will enjoy close views of all this wildlife while sailing on Kazinga channel. Overnight at your lodge Day 3: Short game drive and transfer to Kampala On this last day of your safari, you will rise up, have breakfast and once again take on a game drive in Kasenyi to search for some animals that you could have missed. Alternatively, you can visit Katwe salt lake to see how salt is locally mined. After about 2 hours of the drive or at the salt lake, embark on the road trip to Kampala or Entebbe. You will have an en-route lunch and arrive at your lodge or airport in the evening. END OF QUEEN ELIZABETH SAFARI
